Okinawa is the prefecture located in the southwestern-most part of Japan, and is betweenthe Asian continent and the Japanese islands. The Okinawan archipelago consists of 49 inhabited islands and many other uninhabited islands. Okinawa sits at the same latitude as Hawaii, Florida, and the Bahamas, and has a similar subtropical climate. This geographic location makes Okinawa one of the most popular beach resorts. Okinawa is also famous for its beautiful coral reefs, white sandy beaches, white clouds in a blue sky, and crystal clear cobalt-blue and emerald-green seawater.

Okinawa was once an independent nation known as the Ryukyu Kingdom, a small but prosperous nation renowned as a key junction for trade among China, Taiwan, Korea, Southeastern Asia, and Japan. Its close relationship with many countries has formed a unique Okinawan culture that is different from that of the rest of Japan, such as traditional music, arts, food, and distilled liquor. The unique Okinawan culture and tradition are still alive in Okinawa's people, and will give visitors a chance to have new experiences.

Domestic flights from Narita (Tokyo), Kansai (Osaka), and Chubu (Nagoya) International Airports and several other local airports to Okinawa Naha Airport are available. The direct international flights from Seoul, Korea, and several cities in China to Okinawa are also available. It takes 30 minutes to travel from Naha Airport to the downtown of Naha-city by monorail. The climate of Okinawa in this season is comfortable. The average temperature is around 22°C, and typically ranges from 15°C to 30°C. The weather is usually fine, and visitors will enjoy the beginning of the autumn season of subtropical Okinawa.
