Location & access

Gyeongju, an ancient capital city of Shilla Kingdom from BC 57 to AD 935, is located nearby the south-eastern coast of Korea. Gyeongju is the city of world cultural heritage by UNESCO, preserving many historical monuments including Bulkuksa, a most beautiful royal temple built in AD 6C, and Seokgulam Grotto, the most famous 7th centuries artwork known worldwide for the granite statue of Buddha and its mysterious architectural structure. This city, therefore, is called ‘Museum without wall’. In addition, Bomun Lake Resort, the venue of PSA-10, is beautifully designed landscaped place with relaxing leisure facilities.

It is located about 350 km south-east of Seoul, and transportation is available from Seoul by air, train or bus. It takes 4 to 6 hours from Incheon international airport to Gyeongju by direct shuttle bus. Alternatively, the direct flight from Seoul to either Ulsan or Pohang airport is also available but the flight number is limited. The detailed transportation is well explained in the webpage.

Climate

The climate of Gyeongju in this season is most comfortable in Korea. The average temperature is around 11°C to 15°C and the weather is usually beautifully bright and sunny in this season. You will enjoy the most beautiful autumn leaves with sky blue in Gyeongju.
