| Kanazawa (the guide in English, in Korean, in Japanese) is located in the middle coast of Honshu (main) island facing Russia, China, and Korea, and is one of the old cities which has been preserving an old culture and view of Yedo-Era (17-19 century). Kanazawa is most famous for Kenrokuen Garden, one of the most celebrated gardens in Japan, and its autumn color is particularly extraordinary. Many kind of small museums in the city and nearby are also worth a visit. Kanazawa is also renowned for its crafts, such as the gjapanh, i.e. gurushih laquer, ware of fine art of gold (maki-e, shikki), the Kaga printed silk (Kaga-Yuzen), etc. It takes about 4 or 6 hours from Narita, Chubu, or Kansai international air ports to Kanazawa by train. The direct flight from Seoul to Komatsu international air port, the nearest airport to Kanazawa, is also available, but the flight number is limited. |
